Macrobiotics is an approach to eating food as medicine. Dr. Hall started his studies in macrobiotics when he became sick with an incurable disease. Refusing an operation, he began what has become a life long journey to wholeness and healing as a profession. First studying with renown French Morrocan food doctor, Armand Abehsera, for more than 2 years, then with Dr. Vicente Ser, the father of macrobiotics in Spain for four years when he met and began his studies with Michio Kushi (www.michiokushi.org), the world's premier macrobiotic physician. Michio Kushi founded the World Macrobiotic Association™ and is accredited for macrobiotic research projects all over the planet as well as for why the organic food movement is one of the fastest growing industries in the world.

Since there was no category in Spanish law for work in macrobiotics, the Spanish government made a law for him in 1991, which states that he may officially use the title "doctor" as long as it is indicated it is macrobiotics. As a result of this ruling, macrobiotics was also legalized as a medicine in Spain.

A Tennessee native who has spent half of his life in Spain, Dr. Hall, now works with the Florida Integrative Medical Center. Integrative medicine utilizes the best evidence based diagnostic and therapeutic methods from traditional, alternative, complementary, functional, nutritional, herbal, homeopathic and chelation medicine. These methods are used to treat the whole person to offer individualized care, so patients learn how to improve their quality of life and decrease their risk of disease through the use of integrative medical care.
