Poet and performance artist extraordinaire Marsha Jean Carter was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She hosts PART II of our Spirituality Meets the Streets series to encourage us to PUSH on inspite of what may appear to mitigate against manifesting our gifts. Her powerful spoken word delivery of the insanely popular "Broccoli Don't Taste Like Peach Cobbler" CD over hip hop, jazz and neo-soul beats is addictive. Marsha says her goal is to transform real life experiences into spoken word poetry.

"Broccoli Don't Taste Like Peach Cobbler" is Marsha's debut CD. Her writing style is simple. Through performance, she transforms personal life experiences into poetry. Her goal is to bring people closer to God by including scriptures in her work. After much heartache and pushing, Marsha independently produced and manufactured this collection of real life experiences both past and present. She started writing and performing poetry in 2000. The CD combines Marsha’s powerful delivery of spoken word poetry over neo-soul and traditional jazz music.
